2023 Team Leadership

Why Should You join?

Design, Build And Drive A race car!

Are you competitive? Do you like winning? With over 600 teams and thousands of students across the globe, you have the opportunity to participate in the largest student design competition in the world!

Career Networking and Skill Development

Formula SAE is the best opportunity undergraduate students have to apply their engineering skills to real-life problems.

Members get access to the design center, experienced members, faculty advisors, technical advisors, team alumni, and corporate sponsors to assist them in starting their engineering journey at Akron.

Leadership Opportunities

Zips Racing Electric is entirely student-led, especially when it comes to organization, engineering, and fundraising. For most of our team members, FSAE is the first time they are tasked with major responsibilities that influence the outcome of a project.

To be successful, our members must learn effective time management and communication skills. A unique aspect of student design projects is significant turnover of members as new students join and seniors graduate. This means that team leadership must utilize excellent communication strategies to onboard new members and teach all the skills they need to contribute as quickly as possible.
